Annette grew up in North Carolina, where she divided her college education between Meredith College and Atlantic Christian College. After graduation, she and Dickie married and moved to Richmond in 1965; they joined St. Giles in 1991. Thirty years of teaching third and fourth graders in Chesterfield County provided a wealth of experiences before Annette retired five years ago. She joined the St. Giles staff in January, 2008.
The Irving home is always full of joy, laughter, and activity with two married daughters, their husbands, and five grandchildren. She and Dickie enjoy traveling, and drove 11,000 miles cross- country in six weeks during the first year of retirement. Annette enjoys photography, knitting, and antiquing, but most of all any activity with the grandchildren.
