Scouting at St. Giles

What is Cub Scouting?  It’s the first and biggest program of the Boy Scouts of America! Cub Scouts (boys in grades 1-5) belong to a den composed of boys of similar age, and to a pack, which is composed of several dens.  Cub Scout Pack 440, which meets at the church on Monday nights, was chartered by St. Giles Presbyterian Church 16 years ago, and has been active ever since in helping boys become leaders while stressing fun and personal responsibility. In the past year, we have gone camping at Pocahontas and Bear Creek Lake State Parks and have helped the community by participating in the Scouting for Food Drive.  We also hold our annual Pinewood Derby right here in Patterson Auditorium.

Cub Scouts do things, go places, earn awards, and grow into good citizens who are strong in faith, character, and personal fitness. Most of all - it's fun!  Cub Scouting: Fun with a Purpose.

The Boy Scout Troop at St. Giles (for boys in grades 6 and up) has been helping to make leaders of young men since 1956!  The troop meets most Mondays at Patterson Auditorium at 7:15 p.m. and takes at least nine assorted trips throughout the year. The Scoutmasters at Troop 440 are dedicated to meeting the individual needs of each boy in the troop.

For more information on any of the scout groups, please email Annette Irving.
