Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage  presents a two-day LIVE seminar at Mt. Gilead Church, Midlothian, Aug 20-21 sponsored by St. Giles and the  First Things First Marriage Coalition. This is a wildly entertaining and informative marriage event designed to bring hope and positive change to marriages. It creates better communication in marriages, helps spouses better understand each others' needs, and rekindles romance in marriage relationships. Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage appeals widely to husbands, even those who may typically resist marriage ministry! Cost is just $30 per person.  Low Cost childcare is available from the church.  There will be a registration table following church or contact Bob Ruthazer: Bob@stgiles.org or 282-9763 ext 13.

SUMMER at ST. GILES

General Assembly Interpretive Meeting this Wednesday, July 21
Keith will lead a meeting tomorrow tonight, July 21 at 6:30 PM to talk over the details and implications of the recent General Assembly. Come with your questions and thoughts. We want to be used by God in the larger church, but how?

Donna Roman is preparing a light meal beforehand to be served at 5:45 PM. Call the church office when you receive this if you would like to come to the dinner preceding the G.A. talk.

Highlights of Session Results
The Session met July19. Here are some highlights of their actions: 1) Continued their study of a new book: Incarnate Leadership 2) Followed up on plans for music leadership transitions at late service - a conversation that will be ongoing for some months. 3) Decided to partner with Westwood Baptist Church for Thanksgiving service this year, along with other possibilities to be determined. 4) Approved an initiative to welcome new students at the seminary to a hospitality event at St. Giles  5) Approved a fall festival sponsored by Presbyterian Women featuring area artisans, both to network with those artisans and those who come to see their work and to raise funds for our new pre-school, A Children's Garden.

Sunday's Share Service and Lunch following worship

Thank you from Edith Parks
Dear St. Giles Friends, Thank you for the wonderful celebration last Sunday. Your hugs, love and kind words were a blessing. I have read your notes through tears and am humbled by what you wrote. Thank you too for the calligraphy picture with the names of Jesus. He is the reason we do what we do. The picture will have a special place in our home. May God richly bless you as you serve Him. You will always have a place in my heart, Love, Edith
