You may be wondering, “How can I get involved at St. Giles?” We would be delighted for you to visit whatever church events interest you! Check out the church calendar, and feel free to call the church office if you have any questions.
Of particular interest to many newcomers is our bi-monthly Newcomer's Class, which covers the basics of what it means to be a Christian, to be a Presbyterian, and to be a part of our local congregation. It's an informal time when you can bring your questions and figure out who we are! Child care is provided by reservation. Contact Keith Hill for more information.
How do I join St. Giles Presbyterian Church?
First, attend a Newcomer’s Class. Whether you are a long-time Presbyterian, a transfer from another denomination, or a new believer, this class is an important step in understanding our congregation.
After you have attended a class, you will be invited to meet with our session. This group of elders is the governing body of our local church. They will welcome you warmly, ask you to share milestones in your faith journey, and ask if you can affirm that Jesus is your Lord and Savior. You will be introduced to the congregation on a subsequent Sunday, and at that time you will be asked to reaffirm your baptismal vows (or to be baptized, if you have haven’t been in the past).
