Wednesday Evening Classes
Beginning September 15th
Acts: Out of the Box Christians
Teacher: Keith Hill
Meets in the Reception Room
This study will pick up where we left off in the book of Acts this spring – we’ll be starting in chapter 17. As we do we’ll be continuing our inquiry into how God works in and through Christians. We’ll see yet more examples of how God’s ways continually put us “outside the box” of our own expectations and our culture’s values. God thereby grows us up and uses us to his glory and the advancement of his Kingdom. (Whether you were with us for the first 16 chapters or not, know that you’re welcome!)
Praise and Prayer
Facilitator: Evelyn Thomas
Meets in Robins Room
Col. 3:16 says, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God." That's what we plan to be about. In addition, we'll send time in intercessory prayer. Each week we will begin with a time of singing to focus us on the One we have come to worship, then we will have a devotional time, a time for testimonies, followed by intercessory prayer. What a wonderful way to share in each others lives and to grow together as the body of Christ! You will be blessed. So come and join in rich fellowship with Our Lord and with one another as we worship and pray together.
Singles Class:
Forgotten God: Reversing our Neglect of the Holy Spirit
Facilitator: Ellen Andrusia
Meets in the Upstairs Young Adults Classroom
A follow up to the profound message of Crazy Love, Pastor Francis Chan offers a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit's direction in our lives. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two? As Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit--the Helper--so that we could be true and living witnesses for Christ. We will seek to grow thorough scriptural support and compelling narrative form Chan's invitation to stop and remember the One we've forgotten, the Spirit of the living God.
Elijah House
Led by Lyn Westerman
Meets in Robins Room
“The Elijah House course was developed by John and Paula Sandford to empower and support the church to ‘restore all things’ (Matthew 17:11) and to ‘restore the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers’ (Malachi 4:5-6). The purpose of this course is to instruct and equip the Body of Christ to pray for and minister to others with healing results.”
